Sundernagar, 09 September: An Alto car went out of control and fell into a 1500 meter deep gorge in Kandha of Balichowki under Seraj area of Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. Three out of four people in the car died in the accident, while one is injured. Two of the three people who lost their lives in the accident were real sisters. The reasons for the accident have not been ascertained. As soon as the information was received, the police started investigating the matter.
A video related to this accident that happened on Sunday afternoon is becoming increasingly viral on social media, in which it can be seen that the car is falling down a deep gorge after overturning from the hill. Which has been captured by a person present at some distance in his mobile camera. The car was going from Balichowki towards Kandha. Shahdi Devi and Kanta had taken a lift from the car driver to go home from their maternal home.
During the journey, the driver lost control and the car fell into a deep ditch. Shahdi Devi and Reet Ram, resident of Bhatludhar, died on the spot in the accident. While Shahdi’s sister Kanta Devi, resident of Shegli Bali Chowki, died during treatment. Driver Dabe Ram has been admitted to the Regional Hospital Kullu.
The administration has provided relief amount of Rs 25,000 each to the families of the deceased and Rs 10,000 to the injured. SP Mandi Sakshi Verma said that the reasons for the accident are being investigated.
