Breaking News: Storm wreaks havoc in West Bengal, 5 killed, 300 injured
Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, New Delhi, April 01: The storm has caused huge devastation in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. Five people died in the accident, while more than 300 people were injured. Many houses and huts have also suffered heavy damage due to the strong storm at two places in Jalpaiguri district.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met the affected people in the hospital and assured all possible help from the administration. Mamta Banerjee also took stock of the situation. During this, She said that the state government is with the affected people and will make every possible effort to help them.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed grief over the loss of life and property in the storm. Posting on X account, he said that my condolences are with the people affected by the storm in Jalpaiguri-Mainaguri areas of West Bengal. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones.
I have spoken to officials and asked them to ensure proper assistance to people affected by heavy rains. I would also urge BJP Bengal workers to help the people affected by the storm.
