Bilaspur, November 20: The special team of the Bilaspur district police has taken a major action against drug abuse.
During patrolling, the police recovered 509.24 grams of hashish and cash worth Rs 1 lakh from a car. The arrest was made at Baloh Fourlane Link Road, Malyavar, where the police stopped a vehicle (HP01K-6580) for checking. 509 grams of hashish and cash worth Rs 1 lakh were recovered from the accused Gurdas, son of Devi Singh, resident of Saned, Mandi district, who was travelling in the vehicle.
DSP Madan Dhiman said that the accused is being interrogated and the police is trying to find out from where the hashish was brought and where it was being taken.
This action is being considered a major success of the campaign being run by the Bilaspur district police against drug abuse.
He has appealed to the public to immediately share any information related to illegal drug trade with the Bilaspur police.
