Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Bilaspur, March 16: During patrolling, the police team under Jhanduta police station of Bilaspur district has recovered cash worth Rs 16 thousand along with drug paraphernalia from a person.
According to the information received from Jhanduta police, the police team was going on patrol under the leadership of station in-charge Jhanduta Jagdish Kumar. During this time, a person was sitting on the parapet near the old bridge on Baihnajattan four lane road. Suddenly seeing the police team, the said person stood up from the parapet and tried to run away by throwing the object in his hand in the grass.

When the police opened and checked the object thrown by the accused, they found 5.17 grams of opium and 0.52 grams of chitta inside it. On counting the bundle of currency notes lying on the parapet along the road, a total of Rs 16,000 was found. The said person was identified as Deepak Chandel, son of Prakash Chand, village Bairi Dadola Post Office Baihnajattan.

Police have registered a case under NDPS Act at Jhanduta police station and started investigation. The matter has been confirmed by DSP Madan Dhiman.
