Biggest chitta consignment seized in Himachal: Police arrest Kupwara resident in Shimla district

Shimla, September 19: In a major breakthrough, Shimla police have seized the biggest consignment of chitta ever recovered in Himachal Pradesh. During a raid conducted in Kharapathar area under Kotkhai police station, 460 grams of chitta was recovered from Muddasir Ahmad, a resident of Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Acting on a tip-off, police came to know that a person was carrying a huge consignment of drugs for supply in Rohru. The police team acted swiftly and arrested Ahmad at Kharapathar, leading to the recovery of the drugs.

The accused has been arrested and a case has been registered against him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Shimla Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Gandhi confirmed the arrest and said that an intensive investigation is underway. Police are now focusing on identifying other persons involved and ascertaining the extent of the smuggling network.
