Attention Himachal : Out of 3000 HRTC buses, 1408 have left for election duty, most routes of Kangra, Mandi, Shimla will be affected

Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, May 30A large number of HRTC buses have been put on election duty for the voting on four Lok Sabha seats and six assembly by-elections seats in Himachal Pradesh on the upcoming Saturday, June 1.

According to the official data released by the HRTC management on Thursday, fourteen hundred HRTC buses have been dispatched for election duty, Due to shortage of HRTC buses, the management will not operate HRTC buses on many routes, due to which passengers traveling by HRTC buses daily will face problems.

Fourteen hundred HRTC buses have been sent on election duty for the police force of outside states and all other important staff deployed to conduct the voting of Lok Sabha and assembly by-elections in Himachal Pradesh successfully, Due to the shortage of HRTC buses, which are called the lifeline of common passengers, people who travel daily will have to use private buses or other alternative travel options instead of HRTC buses due to the route being off.

As per the order issued by the HRTC management, the effect of the route off is being seen from Thursday in the capital Shimla as well as all the other eleven districts due to the shortage of HRTC buses.Regular passengers have been waiting for several hours at the bus stands for HRTC buses.

According to the data released by the HRTC management, due to the voting of Lok Sabha and Assembly by-election in Himachal Pradesh, the maximum number of 280 HRTC buses have been sent on election duty from Kangra district.Besides, 227 HRTC buses from Mandi district, 201 HRTC buses from Shimla district, 103-103 HRTC buses from Solan and Sirmaur districts, 100 HRTC buses from Una district, 96 HRTC buses from Hamirpur district, 88 HRTC buses from Kullu district, 84 HRTC buses from Chamba district, 67 HRTC buses from Bilaspur district, 33 HRTC buses from Kinnaur district and 26 HRTC buses from Lahaul-Spiti district have been sent for election duty.

Apart from this, HRTC has also booked five private tempo travellers for election duty, out of which three tempo travellers have been deployed for Solan district and two tempo travellers in Chamba district for election duty.

Departure of polling parties has started for the Lok Sabha and Assembly by-elections votings to be held on Saturday, June 1 in Himachal Pradesh.6589 polling parties have been sent to their respective destinations on Thursday and other 1403 polling parties are going to be sent to their respective destinations on Friday.

Since Thursday, the common people are facing problems due to 1400 HRTC buses of Himachal Pradesh going on election duty and being off route.HRTC management has issued a notification that bus services will be affected on Friday and Saturday.

It is worth mentioning that HRTC management currently operates three thousand buses from its lineup but according to the latest data, 1408 buses of HRTC have been sent on election duty.

After sending 1408 HRTC buses on election duty, passengers traveling on rural routes will have to face a lot of trouble for two days due to the route being off.
