Security forces have foiled an infiltration attempt by Pakistan in Uri sector of Baramulla district of North Kashmir. In the early hours of Saturday, terrorists tried to sneak across the LoC in Uri sector. Military officials said Pakistan was trying to disrupt the G20 summit and create unrest in the Valley. This infiltration is a link to this.

According to a military spokesman, a quadcopter was flown from the Pakistani side and the army personnel fired back before it could enter the Indian territory. This is the first time such an act has been seen in this sector. From this, it is believed that after the International Border (IB) adjacent to the Jammu division, Pakistan is now changing its strategy on the LoC in the Uri sector of North Kashmir.

Pakistan is often using quadcopters to drop arms and other ammunition near the IB. But this type of attempt has now come to the fore in Uri sector as well. In a statement, Colonel Amron Mosavi, spokesman for the army’s 15 Corps command in the Valley, said in a statement that the army foiled an infiltration bid by terrorists across the Line of Control in Uri sector on Saturday morning. A group of heavily armed terrorists engaged in a face-off with alert troops while attempting to cross the Line of Control.

Extensive search operation in dense forests

A massive search operation is underway in the densely forested area, the spokesman said. According to sources, an Army JCO has also been injured in the encounter between the terrorists and the Army along the LoC, who has been brought to the 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar. His condition is said to be stable. But there is no official confirmation of the jawan being injured.
