Mandi, June 28: The meeting of the District Level Apprentice Committee of Apprenticeship Training Scheme was held today in the VC Room of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, which was chaired by Mandi District Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan.
He directed all the Assistant Apprenticeship Advisors of Mandi district to motivate all the trainees who have passed 8th, 10th, 12th, ITI, Diploma and Graduation to avail the benefits of the Apprenticeship Training Scheme.
He directed the Assistant Apprenticeship Advisor and Principals of Technical Institutes to organize awareness programs from time to time with industrial units so that maximum number of trainee youth can get the benefit of it.

He said that the main objective of the Apprenticeship Training Scheme is to provide training at the workplace after the training taken in technical institutes so that along with skill development of the youth, they can be made employable.
In the meeting, the committee’s member secretary, assistant apprenticeship advisor and principal, ITI Mandi, Ravinder Singh said that under the scheme, 5th to 9th pass trainees are given 5 thousand, 10th pass trainees are given 6 thousand, 12th and ITI pass trainees are given 7 thousand, diploma pass trainees are given 8 thousand and degree holder trainees are given 9 thousand rupees honorarium per month.Under the scheme, one year apprenticeship period of ITI pass trainees is recognized as work experience.
In the meeting, committee members General Manager, District Industries Center, Mandi OP Jaryal, Principal Industrial Area Ashok Sethi, Executive Engineer, Electricity Rajesh Kumar, Executive Engineer of Public Works Department K Verma, Executive Engineer of Water Power Department, OP Bhardwaj, Deputy Director, Higher Education, Sushil Kumar, Labor Officer Vijay Kumar, Principals and Assistant Apprenticeship Advisors of Government and Private Industrial Training Institutes were also present.
