Strong earthquake tremors were felt in Japan’s Hokkaido island on Saturday evening. An earthquake of magnitude 6.1 occurred in the eastern part of the island. Officials say no tsunami warning has been issued due to the earthquake.
According to the United Nations Geological Survey, the earthquake occurred on the island of Nemuro at a depth of 61 km. No loss of life or property has been reported so far due to the earthquake. According to Japanese officials, the tremors were felt at 10.27 pm local time.
