New Delhi: Google-owned YouTube said in a fresh update that it has restored all channels and most videos that were removed due to a technical glitch or bug.
After a bug led to some channels being wrongly flagged for spam and removed, YouTube started working on fixing the issue.
“Happy to report that all channels and most videos that were wrongly removed have been restored and subscriptions have been restored (we’re still working on the last few, please be patient)”, YouTube said in a post on X social media platform on Sunday.
“We know this has caused some disruption, and we appreciate your patience while we fix it,” the company said.
The Google-owned company had earlier said that its teams were “still working on restoring access to channels and subscriptions that were wrongly removed”.
“We’re sorry for the trouble! Some content like playlists may be delayed, but it’s all coming back. Thank you for your patience while we work on it,” the company had mentioned in a post on X.
The YouTube channels were wrongly removed for “spam and deceptive behavior.” This included access to all subscriptions (YouTube TV, YouTube Premium, YouTube Music).
The company also mentioned that some YouTube creators may be missing some content like playlists. But those too will be restored soon, the company said.
The original notification and subsequent updates on the support page are addressed to “content creators.”
However, some non-content creators have also been unable to access their YouTube account, watch YouTube videos, or listen to YouTube Music.
According to the report, due to some paid subscriptions like YouTube Premium not being available, saved content cannot be viewed, including playlists.
However, YouTube did not confirm how many users have been affected by the technical glitch.
