Shimla, 01 August: In Himachal Pradesh, most areas have received rain during the last 24 hours, in which devastation has been seen at some places. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert of heavy rain in some parts of the state on Thursday.
Meteorological Center Shimla scientist Sandeep Kumar said that during the last 24 hours, most areas in the state have received rain, while heavy rain has been recorded in some districts. Heavy rain has occurred at some places in Chamba, Kangra, Bilaspur Hamirpur, Solan, Shimla. In which 212 mm of rain has been recorded in Palampur, 161 in Jogindernagar, 183.2 in Dharamshala, 135.0 in Baijnath, 142.0 in Sujanpur Tehra, 103.5 in Nadaun, 121.2 in Paonta and 84 mm in Kufri.
Today there is an orange alert for heavy rain at one or two places in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi. There is a yellow alert for heavy rain at some places from 2 to 6 August. During this period, there is a possibility of heavy rain at one or two places in Una, Bilaspur, Solan, Mandi, Sirmaur, Shimla, Chamba, Kangra. In such a situation, people are advised not to go near rivers and streams because flash floods can occur after heavy rain.
