4 Babas from UP hypnotized a chicken seller and extorted 1.61 lakhs
Mandi, July 8: Two Babas extorted Rs 1,61,000 from Purna Chand, a wholesale chicken seller in Chail Chowk town under Gohar subdivision of Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. It is being told that these Babas came in a vehicle with UP number plate UP21BC-3472. They went to the chicken seller Purna Chand and applied tilak on him and expressed their desire to go to his house for tea. Purna Chand took the Babas to his house with respect and hospitality. After this, Purna Chand did whatever the Babas said. After drinking tea and eating food, the Babas asked Purna Chand for some money. Purna Chand took out Rs 1100 from his pocket and gave it to the Babas.
The Babas said that this is very less, so Purna Chand gave 11 thousand rupees. After that when they demanded some more money, Purna Chand took out 50 thousand rupees and gave it to the Babas. The Babas said that give us more money or else we will sit in samadhi at your place. After hearing this, Purna Chand took out 1 lakh rupees from his house and gave it to them. Purna Chand told that last year his daughter’s house was damaged due to disaster. He had taken 2 lakhs from the bank to build his daughter’s house, out of which 1.61 lakh rupees were taken from him by the so-called Babas.
Purna Chand told that after the Babas left, he and his family members started sleeping deeply. In the evening, when they woke up, they saw that they had been duped of 1,61,000 rupees. Purna Chand immediately went to Gohar Police Station and told the whole incident.

The Gohar police station started searching for the Babas’ car by searching the CCTV cameras and caught 4 Babas along with the car from Nerchowk market. The police got 1 lakh 61 thousand rupees back from the Babas to Purna Chand. Purna Chand said that he had no idea what he was doing and what he was not. In a way, he found himself under the control of the Babas and kept doing whatever they told him to do.
Gohar Police Station in-charge Lal Singh and Purna Chand have appealed to the common people to not let such Babas come to their homes, neither give them any money nor serve them. These people are frauds and come in any disguise and cheat people and then go away.
Gohar Police Station in-charge Lal Singh said that the Babas have been released after warning them. While the police has noted down their addresses and complete whereabouts.
