Abhishek Rana, chairman of the social media department of Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee and son of MLA Rajinder Rana, has resigned from the post of chairman. The resignation written by Abhishek Rana has been submitted to Himachal Pradesh Congress Party in-charge Rajiv Shukla. Abhishek Rana has also shared a post on his social media platform regarding his resignation from the post of chairman. Abhishek Rana was working as Chairman of Social Media Department of Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee for five years. After the resignation of son Abhishek Rana amidst discussions of dissatisfaction of Abhishek Rana’s father Rajinder Rana with the Congress party, various types of discussions have started in the political circles of Himachal Pradesh.

Himachal Pradesh Congress working president Rajinder Rana was in the race to become a minister in the Himachal Pradesh government. But MLA Rajendra Rana has publicly expressed his displeasure several times over not being made a minister in the Himachal Pradesh government.
In his resignation, Abhishek Rana has cited increased busyness as the national president of the Sarva Kalyankari Sanstha as the main reason. MLA Rajinder Rana is the founder of Sarva Kalyankari Sanstha. Last year itself, in 2023, Abhishek Rana was appointed the national president of the Sarva Kalyankari Sanstha. Abhishek Rana has said that he has met Himachal Pradesh Congress Party in-charge Rajiv Shukla and given him a copy of the resignation letter. Abhishek Rana has said that for five years, efforts have been made to complete every task of the Congress Party very well. Abhishek Rana has resigned from the post of Chairman of Social Media Department, but Abhishek Rana will remain associated with the Congress Party and the policies and all activities of the Congress Party. Whatever guidelines the Congress Party will have in future, all those will also be worked on by Abhishek Rana.
