Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed happiness over the installation of 254 4G mobile towers in Arunachal Pradesh.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju informed in a tweet that 254 4G mobile towers in Arunachal Pradesh have been dedicated to the nation. He said that this high-speed internet facility in 336 remote villages would transform the lives of the people. Border people are expressing gratitude towards PM @narendramodi ji.

Responding to Kiren Rijiju’s tweet, the Prime Minister wrote that very good news for furthering connectivity in Arunachal Pradesh.
In a joint effort by the Government of India and Arunachal Pradesh, 254 4G mobile towers were dedicated to the public in the northeastern state on Saturday.

Union Minister for Communications Ashwini Vaishnav, Union Minister for Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu and Union Minister of State for Communications Devsingh Chouhan were present during the launch event. The mobile towers will cover 336 villages and benefit thousands of residents of Arunachal Pradesh. The beneficiaries will be able to access high-speed network connectivity for residents living in remote parts across the state.

Under the Bharat Net scheme, over 1,310 gram panchayats have been connected with optical fiber and over 1,156 mobile towers have been planned to bring about digital inclusion.

5G services have recently been launched in Itanagar and will be expanded to other areas. Notably, telecom service providers in India are slated to start providing high-speed 5G services in the country in October 2022.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Khandu said that since 2014 the infrastructure in his state has changed. He said that digital inclusion has helped in eradicating corruption and e-governance.
