US Senate confirms Indian-American Radha Iyengar Plumb as Dy Under Secretary of Defense
Indian-American Radha Iyengar Plumb has been appointed as Deputy Defense Secretary. It has been confirmed by the US Senate. The Senate voted today for Deputy Under Secretary of Defense Radha Iyengar Plumb. She won by a vote of 68–30.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden nominated Radha Iyengar Plumb to the post of Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment. He is currently serving as the Chief of Staff to the Deputy Secretary of Defense and was nominated for the top Pentagon post in June 2022.
Prior to her appointment as chief of staff, Radha was director of research and insights for trust and security at Google, leading the business analytics, data science and technical research teams. She also served as the Global Head of Policy Analysis at Facebook.
He has also served in several senior positions on national security issues in the Department of Defense, Ministry of Energy and the White House National Security Council.
