Amit Shah reviews J-K security in a high-level meeting in Delhi

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday (April 13) chaired a high-level review meeting in the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the security of Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting was attended by NSA Ajit Doval, J&K LG Manoj Sinha, Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, DGP J&K Dilbag Singh and other senior officers of MHA and Central Armed Police Forces. .

Amit Shah was given a detailed presentation on the current law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir by the security officials of the Central Government and Union Territory Administration. PTI sources said the situation in areas along the Line of Control and the International Border, infiltration attempts from across the border and attempts to target members of minority communities were also discussed in the meeting.

Target killing increased in Jammu and Kashmir

In the last three years, many incidents of target killing have taken place in Jammu and Kashmir. The government told Parliament that since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, 118 civilians, including five Kashmiri Pandits and 16 other Hindus and Sikhs, have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir till July 2022. In May, four Hindu pilgrims were killed and at least 20 were injured when a bus caught fire near Katra in Jammu.
