Demonstrating its continued commitment to global humanitarian efforts, the United Arab Emirates has announced an emergency relief package worth $10 million to assist communities affected by the recent earthquakes that struck northern Venezuela.

The humanitarian initiative comes under the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and will be implemented through the UAE Aid Agency to support people impacted by the twin earthquakes near the coastal city of Morón.

The financial assistance is aimed at accelerating relief operations and helping affected families recover from the devastating consequences of the natural disaster.

UAE Reinforces Global Humanitarian Commitment

The emergency response highlights the UAE’s long-standing policy of standing alongside nations facing humanitarian crises, natural disasters, and emergency situations.

According to officials, the aid package will focus on providing essential humanitarian support, including food supplies, medical assistance, shelter equipment, and other urgent relief materials needed by vulnerable communities.

The initiative is also designed to strengthen early recovery efforts and restore stability in the affected regions.

UAE Aid Agency to Coordinate Relief Operations

Commenting on the announcement, Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, said the country’s humanitarian efforts are rooted in the enduring legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

He emphasized that President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan continues to champion humanitarian causes worldwide, ensuring swift assistance reaches populations impacted by disasters and crises.

Al Ameri noted that communities affected by the earthquakes are facing difficult humanitarian conditions, making immediate intervention essential.

“The UAE remains committed to supporting affected populations and mitigating the impact of disasters through timely humanitarian assistance,” he said.

Food, Medical Supplies and Shelter Assistance Planned

The UAE Aid Agency is currently coordinating with Venezuelan authorities and international humanitarian organizations to ensure the rapid delivery of relief materials.

Authorities said efforts are underway to provide food aid, medical supplies, and shelter equipment to families in need, helping alleviate the hardships faced by those affected by the earthquakes.

The latest announcement further strengthens the UAE’s reputation as one of the world’s leading providers of humanitarian assistance, responding swiftly to crises and supporting communities in times of urgent need.
