Ahead of the celebration of the 12th International Day of Yoga, the Indian Army’s Army Training Command Headquarters (HQ ARTRAC) has been actively promoting health and wellness by organising daily yoga sessions for its personnel and their family members.
The yoga programme, which began on June 13, has received an enthusiastic response from Army personnel stationed at HQ ARTRAC. The participation of families alongside soldiers showcased the growing acceptance of yoga not only as a physical exercise but as a complete lifestyle that nurtures the body, mind, and spirit.
The sessions are being conducted under the guidance of renowned yoga expert Punit Chaturvedi from the Aaradhya Institute, Jaipur. During the training sessions, Chaturvedi highlighted the significance of practising yogasanas and yogic kriyas with proper techniques to achieve maximum benefits for physical strength, mental peace, and spiritual balance.
The comprehensive yoga programme includes a variety of traditional practices such as different asanas, pranayama techniques, meditation, and relaxation exercises. These practices are designed to help participants improve flexibility, reduce stress, enhance concentration, and maintain overall well-being.
According to HQ ARTRAC, the initiative reflects the broader vision of International Yoga Day — promoting harmony, encouraging self-growth, and strengthening communities through the timeless practice of yoga.
As the world prepares to celebrate International Yoga Day, the Indian Army’s initiative stands as an inspiring example of how yoga can become a powerful tool for leading a healthier, more balanced, and mindful life.
