A fleet of Porsche, Lamborghini and BMW supercars is set to arrive in Kangra and Dharamshala this week. The luxury convoy aims to promote experiential tourism and highlight Himachal Pradesh as a premium travel destination.

Luxury Supercar Convoy Set to Make History in Kangra Hills

Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh: In a first-of-its-kind event for the region, a convoy of luxury supercars will soon cruise through the scenic roads of Kangra district, bringing a unique blend of high-performance automobiles, tourism, culture and heritage to the hills of Himachal Pradesh.

The initiative, known as The Supercar Route, is expected to attract attention from automobile enthusiasts, tourists and travel influencers as some of the world’s most iconic sports cars prepare to navigate the mountainous terrain of Kangra and Dharamshala.

The convoy includes two 2025 Porsche 992 GT4s, a Porsche 992 Cabriolet, a Porsche 991.2, a 2026 BMW M2 Competition and two Lamborghini Huracán 640 supercars. Known for their powerful engines and low ground clearance, these vehicles will face a challenging yet picturesque journey through the winding roads of Himachal Pradesh.

Promoting Luxury Travel Through Culture and Heritage

According to Zain Nadeem Rais, founder of The Supercar Route, the initiative is designed to combine luxury motoring with local culture, history and tourism experiences.

“We want to create a community where performance cars meet heritage, landscapes and luxury travel. The journey also serves as an inspiration for young people by showcasing what can be achieved through dedication and hard work,” Rais said.

He added that if premium sports cars can comfortably reach the Kangra hills, it will send a strong message to travelers worldwide about the accessibility and tourism potential of the region.

Kangra Fort, Dharamkot and Dalai Lama Visit on Itinerary

The supercar convoy is scheduled to arrive in Amritsar on May 31 before entering Himachal Pradesh. On June 2, participants will visit some of Kangra’s most iconic attractions, including the historic Kangra Fort and the Maharaja Sansar Chand Museum.

The group will then travel to Dharamkot, located above McLeodganj, where they will experience the natural beauty and cultural richness of the region.

On June 3, the convoy members are expected to meet the 14th Dalai Lama and later visit the renowned Norbulingka Institute and the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala.

An exclusive evening reception hosted by the Kangra royal family is also planned at Cloud’s End Villa, adding a royal touch to the luxury travel experience.

Bir Billing Drive to Highlight Himachal’s Scenic Beauty

The journey will continue on June 4 as the convoy heads towards Bir Billing via Palampur. The route will take participants through lush tea gardens and one of the world’s most famous paragliding destinations.

Organizers believe that showcasing these breathtaking landscapes through luxury automobile tourism can significantly enhance Himachal Pradesh’s visibility among premium travelers and international tourists.

Opportunity for Himachal’s Tourism Industry

Members of The Supercar Route believe the event could open new opportunities for luxury and experiential tourism in the state. While some concerns remain regarding a few poorly maintained road stretches, organizers are optimistic that the initiative will help strengthen Himachal Pradesh’s image as a world-class travel destination.

Industry experts suggest that such curated experiences can boost tourism revenue, strengthen state branding, inspire local youth and attract global attention to the region’s cultural and natural attractions.

As the engines roar through the Kangra hills this week, all eyes will be on whether this unique supercar expedition can pave the way for a new era of premium tourism in Himachal Pradesh.
