Russia has issued a fresh warning to Ukraine, announcing plans for “consistent and systematic strikes” on military-related infrastructure in Kyiv while urging foreign nationals to leave the Ukrainian capital immediately as tensions in the ongoing war continue to escalate.

The statement from Russia’s Foreign Ministry came shortly after one of the deadliest drone attacks in Starobilsk, where at least 18 people were killed and 42 others injured. Moscow blamed Ukraine for the attack and said it would intensify operations against facilities linked to Ukraine’s military and drone programs.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Russian Armed Forces are preparing targeted strikes on Ukrainian defence industry facilities in Kyiv, including sites allegedly involved in drone development, production, programming and deployment.

Russia also accused NATO specialists of assisting Ukraine by supplying drone components, intelligence support and targeting information.

Russia Asks Foreign Citizens to Leave Kyiv

In a strongly worded advisory, Moscow warned foreign diplomats, international organisations and civilians to leave Kyiv as soon as possible. Russian authorities also urged residents to stay away from military and administrative infrastructure connected to the Ukrainian government.

The latest warning highlights growing concerns over a possible escalation in aerial attacks on the Ukrainian capital in the coming days.

Ukraine Expands Drone Warfare Capabilities

Ukraine has significantly increased its drone warfare operations in recent months, successfully targeting several Russian military and energy infrastructure sites. Kyiv has described these attacks as critical to weakening Russia’s military supply chains and operational capacity.

Russia, however, has labelled the attacks as acts of “terrorism” and responded with large-scale missile and drone strikes across multiple Ukrainian regions.

The conflict between the two nations has increasingly shifted toward advanced drone and missile warfare, with both sides intensifying long-range attacks.

Lavrov Communicates Russia’s Position to the US

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reportedly informed US Secretary of State Marco Rubio that Moscow’s strikes are aimed at facilities supporting the Ukrainian military and key decision-making centres in Kyiv.

Russia said the operations are being carried out in response to attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure inside Russian territory.

Zelenskyy Highlights Air Defence Shortage

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy acknowledged that Ukraine is facing a shortage of anti-ballistic air defence systems amid the continuing conflict.

Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is working closely with European allies to strengthen its air defence network and accelerate domestic production capabilities.

He also noted that global anti-ballistic defence resources are under pressure due to ongoing geopolitical conflicts, including tensions involving Iran.

Russia-Ukraine War Enters a New Phase

As drone warfare intensifies and both sides continue to exchange large-scale strikes, analysts believe the Russia-Ukraine conflict is entering a more dangerous and technologically driven phase.

With Kyiv remaining a central target and military infrastructure under increasing pressure, concerns are rising globally over the possibility of further escalation in the region.
