IPL 2026 Playoffs Venues Announced: Final Moved to Ahmedabad, Key Matches in Dharamsala & Mullanpur

In a major update for cricket fans, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the venues for the highly anticipated IPL 2026 Playoffs. The tournament, after delivering 70 thrilling league matches, is now heading into its most decisive phase.

This year, the playoffs will be held across three different venues — Dharamsala, Mullanpur (New Chandigarh), and Ahmedabad — making it a unique setup driven by logistical and operational considerations.

Why Was the IPL 2026 Final Shifted from Bengaluru?

Originally, the IPL 2026 Final was scheduled to be played at Bengaluru’s iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. However, due to certain requirements raised by local authorities that did not align with BCCI’s standard protocols, the venue has now been shifted.

The grand finale will now take place at the world’s largest cricket stadium — the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad — promising a massive atmosphere for the title clash.

Playoffs Venues Breakdown

Dharamsala to Host Qualifier 1

The picturesque HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala will host Qualifier 1 on May 26. This crucial match will feature the top two teams from the points table, with the winner securing a direct spot in the final.

Mullanpur (New Chandigarh) Gets Two Big Matches

The Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur will host:

• Eliminator on May 27 (3rd vs 4th place teams)
• Qualifier 2 on May 29 (Loser of Qualifier 1 vs Winner of Eliminator)

These matches will decide the second finalist of IPL 2026.
