The Governor made these remarks during a meeting with a Tibetan delegation led by Lhakpa Tsering, Chief Representative of the Central Tibetan Administration in Shimla, at Lok Bhavan.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta described the Dalai Lama’s life as a powerful symbol of compassion, peace, and non-violence. He said that the spiritual leader’s teachings continue to inspire not just the Tibetan community, but people across the world.
“The Dalai Lama’s life is a living example of universal human values. His message of peace and harmony resonates globally,” the Governor noted, highlighting how Dharamsala has become an international center of spiritual and cultural significance.
He also underlined the long-standing and harmonious relationship between Himachal Pradesh and the Tibetan community. According to Gupta, Tibetans have played a vital role in strengthening the state’s social fabric while contributing significantly to its cultural richness and economic growth.
During the meeting, Lhakpa Tsering honored the Governor as a gesture of respect and appreciation. Senior officials from Lok Bhavan were also present at the occasion.
The interaction once again reflected the deep bond between the people of Himachal Pradesh and the Tibetan community, further reinforcing the state’s image as a global hub of peace and spirituality.
