Tensions in the Middle East took a sharp turn on Sunday as Iran issued a stark warning that it may target the residences of US and Israeli military commanders and political officials in the region. The statement, reported by Iranian state media, signals a dangerous escalation in an already fragile geopolitical situation.

According to officials from Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters — the country’s top military coordination body — homes of senior enemy figures could now be considered “legitimate targets” if hostilities continue to rise. The warning reflects Iran’s increasingly aggressive posture as it responds to what it describes as growing external threats.

The situation intensified after accusations directed at former US President Donald Trump, whom Iranian officials claim has repeatedly threatened Iran with military action, including possible ground operations in sensitive areas like the Persian Gulf. Iranian authorities also alleged that US forces are strategically positioned away from direct confrontation zones while maintaining influence in key economic and populated regions.

In a strongly worded message, Iran warned that any form of aggression would come at a heavy cost. The statement suggested that US forces could face severe consequences if tensions escalate further, emphasizing Iran’s readiness to retaliate.

Adding to the gravity of the situation, Seyed Majid Mousavi, a senior commander in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), claimed that retaliatory actions are already underway. In a social media post, he referenced strikes on strategic industrial facilities allegedly linked to US and Israeli interests, including chemical plants, refineries, and major metal production complexes.

He warned that such actions would continue until Iran’s adversaries “feel the impact,” underscoring a clear message of persistence and escalation.

As both rhetoric and actions intensify, global observers are closely watching developments, concerned that the situation could spiral into a broader regional conflict. With high-stakes warnings and ongoing retaliatory claims, the coming days may prove critical in determining whether diplomacy can prevail — or if tensions will push the region closer to confrontation.
