In a development that could further shake global stability, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has claimed that Russia is actively supporting Iran with intelligence, potentially intensifying ongoing conflicts.
Speaking on Tuesday, Zelenskyy said Ukraine has gathered evidence suggesting that Russia is helping Iran strengthen its military capabilities. According to him, this support is allowing Iran to carry out more precise strikes and prolonging tensions in an already volatile region.
“There is growing evidence that Russia continues to provide intelligence support to the Iranian regime,” Zelenskyy said. “This kind of involvement is dangerous and only leads to further destabilization.”
He also highlighted how such actions are not just regional concerns but global ones. Zelenskyy warned that international markets are already reacting negatively, especially in the energy sector, which is putting pressure on fuel supplies in several countries.
Meanwhile, diplomatic activity between Russia and Iran has also intensified. Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov recently held a phone conversation with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
According to Russia’s Foreign Ministry, the two leaders discussed rising tensions in the Persian Gulf and expressed concerns over what they described as aggressive actions by the US and Israel.
Lavrov also criticized recent strikes targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities, including the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant. He warned that such attacks could pose serious environmental risks and threaten the safety of Russian personnel stationed in the region.
At the same time, Israel appears to be preparing for continued military action. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed that he had spoken with US President Donald Trump about future strategies.
Netanyahu stated that Israel remains committed to achieving its war objectives, signaling that operations against Iran and Lebanon are likely to continue.
