Officials confirmed that the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, along with its assistant missions, has restarted issuing all categories of visas — including tourist, business, and medical visas. Visa services were halted on December 22 last year following protests, violence, and reported threats to diplomatic facilities during political turmoil in Bangladesh. The suspension disrupted travel plans, business exchanges, and medical visits between the two neighbouring nations.
India and Bangladesh share deep economic, cultural, and people-to-people ties. Every year, a large number of Indians travel to Bangladesh for tourism, religious visits, and business, while cross-border medical and trade movement remains significant.
