The Himachal Pradesh BJP Mahila Morcha has accused the Congress-led government under Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of misleading women by failing to honour its pre-election promise of providing ₹1,500 per month to every woman in the state.

Addressing a press conference at Jassur, BJP Mahila Morcha chairperson DJ Thakur said the assurance was made during the Assembly election campaign in December 2022, but even after three years, the guarantee remains unfulfilled.

She alleged that the government now owes ₹54,000 to each eligible woman, questioning the sincerity of the ruling dispensation towards women’s welfare.
