Elaborate security measures have been put in place for the India–South Africa T20 match scheduled at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on December 14, Additional SP Kangra Bir Bahadur Singh said on Wednesday.

He said the city has been divided into eight security sectors, with nearly 1,000 police personnel—including senior officers—set to be deployed from December 12 to ensure safety in and around Dharamsala. A detailed security plan has been prepared, under which about 20 officers of Additional SP and DSP rank will supervise operations. Both teams are expected to arrive on Friday.

Police will take charge of the stadium premises and intensify surveillance through CCTV cameras and drones. Security personnel will closely monitor crowd movement and activity across the city.

Designated parking areas have been arranged for spectators at the Police Ground Dharamsala, Dadi Mela Ground, Police Lines Complex, DC Office Kangra, the State Secretariat parking area and Charan Football Ground.

To ensure smooth movement near the venue, the Sainik Board–Dadi ITI–Stadium road will remain closed to vehicular traffic on December 14. Police teams will also keep a check on black-market ticket sales and take strict action against offenders.

Meanwhile, the HPCA has announced that offline ticket counters will be operational at the Dharamsala Stadium on December 12 and 13. Tickets will be available at ₹1,500, ₹1,750, ₹2,200, ₹3,500 and ₹5,000.
