A protest broke out in Sanjauli on Saturday after prayers were reportedly offered inside a mosque structure that the court had earlier declared “illegal.” The Hindu Sangharsh Samiti, along with the Devbhoomi Sangharsh Samiti, staged a demonstration against the state government, accusing it of permitting religious activity at the disputed site.

The protesters held a symbolic funeral march in Sanjauli and later burned an effigy of the state government outside the Sanjauli Police Station.
