Jairam Thakur Alleges CM Sukhu Is Directly Responsible for Himachal’s Financial Crisis
BJP MLAs protest inside Assembly complex over halted discretionary grants

A group of BJP MLAs staged a protest in the Assembly complex on Thursday, just minutes before proceedings began on Day 2 of the Winter Session in Tapovan, near Dharamshala. The legislators accused the state government of withholding crucial development funds.

Holding placards and raising slogans, the MLAs—led by Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur—criticised the government for allegedly failing to release MLA Area Development Funds and discretionary grants.

Thakur said the stoppage of funds was hurting development activities across constituencies and accused the government of adopting “biased and vindictive” policies.

He further alleged that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, who also holds the finance portfolio, was solely responsible for pushing the hill state into a financial crisis.
“The Chief Minister is directly responsible for the financial mess Himachal Pradesh is facing,” Thakur said.
