Russia Says It Shot Down 33 Ukrainian Drones Overnight Across Five Regions and Crimea
Russia claims to have shot down 33 Ukrainian drones overnight across multiple regions, Crimea, and the Black Sea. Airports briefly halted operations, two people were injured in Krasnodar, and power outages hit over 200 homes in Rostov.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said on Friday that its forces intercepted and destroyed 33 Ukrainian drones overnight across five regions, as well as over Crimea and the Black Sea.
According to Russia’s aviation watchdog, at least eight airports were forced to suspend operations during the night due to the drone activity.
Local emergency services reported that in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, a city in the Krasnodar region of southern Russia, two people were injured in the attack, prompting schools and kindergartens to halt classes.
In the Rostov region, where seven drones were shot down, a power pole was damaged, cutting electricity to more than 200 homes, regional governor Yuri Slyusar said on the Telegram messaging app.
