Jai Ram Thakur Questions Himachal Govt Over Outsourcing Jobs, Calls ‘Mitr’ Scheme Unfair to Youth
Jai Ram Thakur criticizes the Himachal Pradesh government for outsourcing jobs and running the “Mitr scheme,” alleging that it exploits youth with minimal honorarium. He questions the government’s job promises and calls for regular, permanent employment.
Leader of the Opposition in Himachal Pradesh, Jai Ram Thakur, has raised serious concerns over the government’s growing reliance on outsourcing for public sector jobs.
He alleged that the Congress government has been running what he described as a “Mitr scheme” ever since coming to power — a system under which young people are hired on a token honorarium, far below what they deserve. Thakur accused the government of planning to outsource “Bijli Mitra” positions as well, calling it a breach of trust with the state’s youth.
Questioning why the government is not offering regular jobs — especially after promising five lakh jobs in five years — Thakur claimed that a nexus is extorting money from unemployed youth in the name of outsourced recruitment. He further noted that even the High Court has, from time to time, questioned the track record and functioning of outsourcing agencies.
Thakur demanded that the government discontinue these “Mitr schemes” and focus on providing stable, permanent employment to the youth of Himachal Pradesh.
