Three-Day Mata Chintpurni Festival Begins in Amb with Sacred Flame Procession and Cultural Showcases
The three-day state-level Mata Chintpurni Festival began in Amb with the installation of a sacred flame, cultural performances, traditional sports, local product exhibitions, and star-studded musical evenings featuring Babbu Maan and Amrit Maan.
The three-day state-level Mata Chintpurni Festival began on Friday at the Ramlila Ground in Amb. This marks the second edition of the annual festival at this venue.
Before the formal inauguration, Chintpurni MLA Sudarshan Babloo carried the sacred flame from Mata Chintpurni Temple. At 4 p.m., the flame was lit at the temple and placed in a vehicle for its ceremonial journey to the festival grounds.
Local residents and folk artists led a vibrant procession, escorting the sacred flame to the venue, where MLA Sudarshan Babloo formally installed it. Organizers and a large gathering of devotees were present for the ritual.
Over the next three days, the festival will showcase a wide range of local products, including handicrafts and daily-use items made by district-level self-help groups and small and medium enterprises. Exhibitions highlighting various state government welfare schemes will also be on display.
One of the main attractions this year will be the ‘Mahishasur Mardini’ dance performance, along with traditional nati presentations. The cultural evenings will feature performances by popular Punjabi singers Babbu Maan and Amrit Maan, joined by artists A.C. Bhardwaj, Kumar Sahil, and Anuj Sharma.
In addition to cultural events, the festival will host traditional games such as wrestling, tug-of-war, and musical chairs. A baby show, animal show, and health check-up camps are also part of the three-day celebration.
