Following the NDA’s sweeping victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, BJP supporters across the country celebrated with great enthusiasm. In Shimla, party workers gathered at CTO Chowk, distributed sweets, and marked the victory in the presence of former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur.

Congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the party leadership, Jai Ram Thakur said that the people of Bihar had delivered a clear message to the Mahagathbandhan. According to him, the alliance’s slogan—“Vote chor, gaddi chhod”—failed to resonate with voters, resulting in significant political losses for the Congress.

He also launched a sharp attack on Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, who had campaigned in Bihar as a star campaigner. Jai Ram Thakur said, “Wherever Rahul Gandhi and Sukhvinder Sukhu went as star campaigners, Congress suffered a complete collapse. In Himachal too, people are ready to remove the Congress government.”
He added that although the Sukhu government claims to have fulfilled ten guarantees, voters in Bihar have clearly indicated that such assurances failed to convince them.

Commenting on celebrations reportedly held by the Congress in Mandi, Thakur expressed strong disapproval. He said Mandi district was among the worst affected by recent natural disasters, where many people lost their lives and numerous families were displaced. “In such circumstances, celebrating makes no sense. The government launched no new schemes and did not accelerate relief efforts. There is simply no justification for any celebration,” he remarked.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was seen joining children in a traditional ‘nati’ dance during a Children’s Day event in Shimla. Responding to the Bihar results, he said the Congress contested as a partner in the alliance and fielded candidates on only 60 of the 243 seats. These were just early trends, he added, and the Congress’ vote share was likely to increase. “The full picture will become clear once the final results are declared,” he said.
