Man Arrested with 9.6 Grams of Chitta on NH-5 Near Theog in Shimla District
Police in Shimla district arrested a man near Raighat on National Highway 5 with 9.6 grams of Chitta (heroin). The accused, a resident of Kufri’s Chauki village, allegedly tried to flee and threw the packet before being caught. A case under Section 21 of the NDPS Act has been registered, and an investigation is in progress.

Shimla:
A man was arrested with 9.6 grams of Chitta (heroin) in the Theog subdivision of Shimla district on Sunday, police said.
The accused has been identified as Lavesh, a resident of Chauki village in Kufri.
According to the police, the incident took place around 2:35 a.m. when a patrol team spotted the suspect near Raighat on National Highway 5. On seeing the police, the man allegedly tried to flee and threw a packet by the roadside. The officers quickly apprehended him and recovered the packet, which was later found to contain heroin.
A case has been registered under Section 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is underway, officials said.
