Shimla / Hamirpur:
The Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) has sent 1.43 lakh signatures collected under its statewide campaign “Vote Chor, Gaddi Chor” to the All India Congress Committee (AICC) in New Delhi.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, speaking to the media, said the campaign was launched across all assembly constituencies under the leadership of Himachal Pradesh Congress President Pratibha Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri.

“We have gathered signatures from 1.43 lakh citizens across Himachal Pradesh,” Sukhu said. “Such awareness drives are vital to protect democracy by exposing discrepancies in the voters’ list and educating citizens about their electoral rights.”

Senior Congress leaders including HPCC President Pratibha Singh, PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh, Theog MLA and former HPCC chief Kuldeep Rathore, and several others participated in the initiative.

Pratibha Singh said the signatures were collected in response to Rahul Gandhi’s concerns over irregularities in electoral rolls.

“Our initial goal was one lakh signatures, but we exceeded it and have now sent 1.43 lakh signatures to the AICC, which will forward them to the President of India,” she said.

Expressing confidence about the political climate, she added, “The people of Bihar are politically aware and will vote wisely. After Rahul Gandhi’s revelations about voter list manipulation, I am confident that winds of change will soon blow across Bihar.”

CM Sukhu Dares BJP to Secure ₹1,500-Crore Central Aid

During the same interaction, Chief Minister Sukhu challenged state BJP leaders to stop making “false claims” about central assistance and instead ensure that the ₹1,500 crore relief package announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Himachal Pradesh is actually released.

“I have no objection to accompanying BJP leaders and my cabinet to Delhi to seek help for the state,” Sukhu said. “But those boasting about the Centre’s generosity must first ensure that the ₹1,500 crore promised to Himachal is delivered.”

The Chief Minister accused the previous BJP government of betraying Himachal’s interests under the slogan of a “double-engine government.”

“We will soon share full details of how the Jai Ram Thakur government willingly compromised the state’s rights,” he said. “People deserve to know how their interests were bartered away.”

Sukhu also claimed that internal conflict within the BJP is now an open secret. Citing remarks made by former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, he noted, “Even Jai Ram questioned Anurag Thakur’s leadership, saying that if he were such a big leader, he should have ensured the victory of more MLAs from his own constituency.”

Responding to Anurag Thakur’s recent comparison of BJP leaders to the five Pandavas, Sukhu remarked that the party’s five rival factions were more like “Kalyugi Pandavas.”
