A tragic road accident late Monday night in Hamirpur has left two people dead and four others seriously injured, plunging an entire family into grief. The accident occurred near Tiyale Da Ghat, when a car carrying six family members lost control and fell into a deep gorge.

According to reports, a young woman from Amned village had recently married a man from Dangota. As per local custom, her family and relatives had gone to drop her off at her in-laws’ home on Monday. While returning to their village in the same car, the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle near Tiyale Da Ghat, causing it to veer off the road and tumble down the slope.

The car was completely mangled in the crash, and all six occupants sustained serious injuries. Locals and passersby immediately rushed to the scene and, with the help of other motorists, rescued the victims. They were taken to Hamirpur Medical College, where Duni Chand and Raghuvir Singh succumbed to their injuries during treatment.

The deceased’s families were devastated by the news, as both men were well-known in their community. Those travelling in the ill-fated vehicle were identified as Sudesh Kumari, Pyar Chand, Raghuvir Singh, Anil Kumar, Duni Chand, and Anita Rana.

ASP Hamirpur Rajesh Sharma confirmed that a case has been registered, and the cause of the accident is under investigation.
