Apple’s Shipments in China Rise on Strong Demand for iPhone 17 Series
Apple’s shipments in China rose 0.6% year-on-year to 10.8 million units in the third quarter, even as overall smartphone demand in the country remained sluggish, according to data released by research firm IDC on Wednesday.
The U.S. tech giant, which ranked second in China’s smartphone market, captured a 15.8% market share during the September quarter.
Overall smartphone shipments in China fell 0.6% from a year earlier to 68.4 million units in the same period.
“Apple’s value-for-money base model, the iPhone 17, successfully attracted price-conscious consumers, helping the company achieve modest growth and a higher ranking compared with the previous quarter,” said Will Wong, Senior Smartphone Analyst at IDC.
