Former Shimla BJP MP’s Son Booked for Rape on Pretext of Marriage

A case has been registered against the son of former BJP MP from Shimla for allegedly raping a woman on the pretext of marriage.

The accused has been identified as Dr. Brijeshwar Kashyap, a dentist by profession and the son of former Shimla BJP MP Virender Kashyap.

According to police reports, the woman filed a complaint alleging that Dr. Kashyap, who runs a dental clinic in Solan, established physical relations with her under the false promise of marriage. She further claimed that when she later insisted on marriage, he refused—and she subsequently discovered that he was already married.

Solan SP Gaurav Singh confirmed the report, stating that a case has been registered against the accused under Sections 69 (sexual intercourse obtained through deceit) and 351 (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigation is currently underway.
