George Russell delivered Mercedes to pole position at the Singapore Grand Prix on Saturday, with world champion Max Verstappen of Red Bull joining him on the front row in second place.

The Brit, who had crashed during Friday’s practice session, completed a lap of the Marina Bay Circuit in 1:29.158, 0.182 seconds ahead of Verstappen. McLaren’s championship leader Oscar Piastri posted the third-fastest time.

Kimi Räikkönen, in the second Mercedes, will start alongside Piastri on the second row of the grid, while Piastri’s teammate Lando Norris was fifth fastest. Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton will join them on the third row.
