The Army Training Command (ARTRAC), the Indian Army’s strategic think-tank for doctrine and training, concluded its 35th Raising Day celebrations today, highlighting the Command’s pivotal role in military preparedness and its deep engagement with the civilian community.
Addressing personnel and civilian staff, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of ARTRAC, Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, emphasized that the Command’s initiatives are fully aligned with the Indian Army’s ‘Decade of Transformation’ and ‘Year of Technology Integration’ programs. He outlined ARTRAC’s key achievements and stated that the Command is advancing toward integrating 34 specialized techniques into its curriculum by 2030. This year alone, ARTRAC has provided advanced training to over 18,000 soldiers, with plans to train an additional 12,000 personnel in the coming year.
The Command has accelerated drone training initiatives aimed at equipping soldiers with the capability to operate drones effectively under the principle of ‘A Hawk on Every Soldier’s Arm.’ In line with expanding technological integration, ARTRAC has signed multiple Memorandums of Understanding with premier Indian technology institutions to foster collaborative research and innovation. Additionally, the concept of Red Teaming, a tool for adversarial assessment, has been institutionalized and expertise gained over the past year is being shared with the other two services to enhance planning processes.
Lieutenant General Sharma reaffirmed ARTRAC’s enduring commitment to excellence, noting that the Command’s relentless pursuit ensures the Indian Army remains future-ready, upholding the principles of jointness, self-reliance, and innovation—foundational pillars for realizing the vision of a developed India-2047.
On the occasion, 18 distinguished achievers were presented with GOC-in-C ARTRAC commendation certificates, three training institutions received the GOC-in-C Sports Banner, and awards for financial excellence were also conferred.
