Two Non-IAS Officers Appointed as Secretaries

IPS Officer Appointed Secretary of Social Justice & Empowerment Department

The state government has taken an unusual step by appointing two non-IAS officers as administrative secretaries.

Abhishek Trivedi, a 1996-batch IPS officer, has been appointed Secretary of the Social Justice & Empowerment Department. He is currently serving as Additional Director General of Police, Law & Order.

In addition, Sushil Kumar Singla, an Indian Forest Service officer, has been appointed Secretary of the Environment, Science, Technology & Climate Change Department.

Meanwhile, Rakhil Kahlon will serve as Secretary of the Water Resources Department, having previously held additional charge of the department. Ashish Singmar, former Secretary of the Social Justice & Empowerment Department, has been appointed Secretary of the Department of Digital Technology & Governance.

Furthermore, Jafar Iqbal, Commissioner of Dharamshala Municipal Corporation, has been given additional charge as Managing Director of Kangra Central Cooperative Bank Limited.
