Himachal Pradesh Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh tied the knot with Punjab University professor Amreen Sekhon in a private ceremony held in Chandigarh on September 22.

The bride, Amreen Sekhon, is a distinguished academic with dual master’s degrees in English and Psychology, a PhD in Psychology, and further studies at Harvard University. Born on October 17, 1989, Vikramaditya Singh is the son of the late Virbhadra Singh, who served six terms as Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. He carries forward the family’s political legacy as one of the state’s prominent Congress leaders. His mother, Pratibha Singh, is the president of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC).

Singh represents the Shimla Rural constituency in the state assembly. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he contested from the Mandi seat but lost to actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut.

An alumnus of Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, Singh graduated with a degree in History from Hansraj College, Delhi University, in 2011 and completed his master’s in History in 2016. He is also a national-level trap shooter, having won a bronze medal in 2007.
