Three Killed in Russian Strike on Zaporizhzhia, Governor Says

Three people were killed and two others injured in a Russian attack on the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia on Monday morning, local officials said.
“Zaporizhzhia began Monday morning with explosions and fires,” regional governor Ivan Fedorov wrote, adding that Russian forces used at least 10 aerial bombs in the strike on the city, which has a population of about 700,000.
The attack damaged 15 apartment buildings, 10 private houses, and several non-residential facilities, he said.
Ukraine’s air force reported that it shot down 132 Russian drones overnight and recorded drone attacks in seven locations involving nine drones.
In the northeastern Sumy region, governor Oleh Hryhorov said two people were injured in various drone strikes the previous day, which also damaged civilian infrastructure and private homes.
Emergency services said one person was injured in a strike on the Kyiv region, where apartment blocks and private houses were also hit.
