Canada’s Industry Minister to Meet with CEOs of Anglo American and Teck

Canada’s Industry Minister, Mélanie Joly, said on Tuesday that she will meet next week with the CEOs of Anglo American (AAL.L) and Teck Resources (TECKb.TO) to discuss their proposed merger.

Speaking to reporters ahead of a routine cabinet meeting, she said, “We’ve had discussions with both companies and want to ensure that Canada fully benefits from this deal.” The transaction is still awaiting approval from Ottawa.
