Criminal Arrested with 262 Grams of Heroin

The Indora police of Nurpur district achieved a significant breakthrough on Friday by arresting Rohit Kumar, son of Manjit Singh from Tamota village, and seizing 262 grams of heroin (commonly known as “chitta”) from him. The arrest was made on the spot following a tip-off, and a case has been registered against the accused under Section 21 of the NDPS Act.

Initial investigations revealed that Rohit Kumar is a habitual offender who has repeatedly been involved in drug trafficking. According to police records, he was arrested last year on July 24 with 9.32 grams of heroin. After being granted bail, he resumed his illegal activities and was again caught on April 24 this year with 8.5 grams of heroin.

Nurpur SP Ashok Ratan stated that the recovery of a commercial quantity of the drug points toward Rohit’s involvement in an interstate drug trafficking network.
