Major Accident Averted on Solan’s Shamti Bypass as Apple-Laden Pickup Overturns

Solan, August 22:
A major accident was narrowly avoided on the Shamti Bypass in Solan on Friday morning when an apple-laden pickup overturned in the middle of the road. The vehicle, traveling from Rohru to the Parwanoo apple market, went out of control and toppled over. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported, though the driver sustained minor injuries.

Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred around 9 a.m., when the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle. Within moments, the pickup overturned, scattering apple cartons across the road and creating chaos. Locals rushed to the spot, rescued the driver, and provided him with first aid.

Several cartons of apples were damaged in the mishap, leading to potential financial losses for the orchardists as the produce failed to reach the market. Police arrived promptly after being alerted, cleared the vehicle from the road, and restored traffic flow, which had been briefly disrupted.
