Mandi, August 16: On the occasion of Independence Day, the state government made no announcements for its employees, leaving the workforce disheartened and dissatisfied.

Naresh Thakur, President of the Himachal Pradesh State Employees Federation, said that employees had expected the Chief Minister to announce the release of pending DA installments and arrears, but the issue was not even mentioned. He pointed out that four installments of DA, amounting to nearly 13 percent, remain unpaid. In addition, arrears from the 2016 pay revision are also yet to be released.

Calling the government’s indifference disappointing, Thakur informed that an online meeting of the Federation has been scheduled for Sunday to decide the course of future action. He added that if the government fails to meet their demands, employees may stage a protest outside the Vidhan Sabha or seek legal remedies through the courts.
