CM Sukhu Inaugurates and Lays Foundation Stones for ₹216 Crore Worth of 33 Development Projects

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 33 development projects worth ₹216 crore in the Sarkaghat, Seraj, Drang, and Dharampur assembly constituencies of Mandi district.

The inaugurated projects include a ₹54.91 crore multi-village piped drinking water scheme for parts of Baldwara, Bhadrota, and Gopalpur blocks; an Ayurvedic health centre building at Ropa Thathar costing ₹48 lakh; a science laboratory at Baldwara Senior Secondary School built for ₹1.49 crore; metalling and tarring of the Naghela–Redu–Kaned road for ₹4.93 crore; construction of various roads worth ₹5.70 crore; and a bridge on the Nabahi–Thanda Pani link road costing ₹1.33 crore.

Other completed works opened to the public include a ₹1.48 crore science laboratory at Paonta School; a ₹1.96 crore bridge on the Nagla Temple road; a ₹14.90 crore integrated office building at Baldwara; patwar buildings worth ₹12 lakh each in Mohi and Kalther; a ₹94 lakh building for Sarkaghat Girls’ School; new panchayat ghars at Rissa, Guhmu, and Upper Barot; the ₹32 crore Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding School; an ₹11 lakh community centre; a ₹14 lakh public library in Balichowki; ₹1.15 crore district savings committee shops in Aut market; a ₹11.06 crore community health centre in Marhi; and a ₹22.82 crore double-lane bridge over the Beas river.

Also inaugurated were a ₹4.77 crore bridge over the Sun Khad at Kandapatan and a ₹2.25 crore steel truss pedestrian bridge connecting to the old Dharampur market.

Foundation stone projects include a ₹3.60 crore drinking water supply scheme, a ₹16.45 crore rainwater harvesting structure, an ₹8.83 crore continuous distribution system, a ₹95 lakh science laboratory, a ₹1.06 crore primary health centre in Chandes, a ₹22 lakh health sub-centre, a ₹1.04 crore new block office, a ₹1.14 crore panchayat ghar in Maseran, a ₹12.91 crore ITI in Mohin, and the ₹6.07 crore Chandpur–Dhagwani road.

The Chief Minister said these projects would play a vital role in strengthening the region’s infrastructure and providing better facilities to the people.
