Police Constable Among Two Arrested for Heroin Peddling in Kunihar
Solan, August 13 – Acting on a tip-off, a team from Kunihar Police Station set up a checkpoint and arrested two men riding a motorcycle for allegedly supplying heroin (“chitta”). A total of 4.60 grams of the substance was recovered from them. One of the accused is currently serving as a constable with the SDRF in Shimla.
According to police, on the night of August 12–13, they received information that two youths were travelling from Subathu with heroin. Officers swiftly established a checkpoint near Sanogi and stopped a suspicious motorcycle. A search led to the recovery of 4.60 grams of heroin from Ankush Kumar (28), a resident of Namhol, Post Office Kunihar, Tehsil Arki, Solan district, and Nitish (28), a resident of Tiyukri (Syawa), Post Office Kunihar, Tehsil Arki, Solan district.
A case has been registered against both under Sections 21 and 29 of the ND&PS Act, and the motorcycle has been seized. Police are examining records to check for any prior criminal history. The investigation is ongoing.
