CM Sukhvinder Sukhu to Preside Over State-Level Independence Day Celebrations in Sarkaghat

Shimla, August 2:
The Himachal Pradesh government has issued detailed directives for the upcoming state-level Independence Day celebrations to be held on Friday, August 15. This year’s official ceremony will take place in Sarkaghat, Mandi district, where Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will serve as the Chief Guest and lead the flag hoisting ceremony. The programme is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM.

Cabinet ministers will preside over district-level celebrations across the state. The Chief Secretary’s office has issued instructions to all Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police to ensure proper arrangements.

According to the official notification:

  • Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania will preside over the event in Una

  • Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri will lead the celebrations in Shimla

  • Health Minister Col. Dhani Ram Shandil in Solan

  • Agriculture Minister Chander Kumar in Dharamshala

  • Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan in Chamba

  • Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi in Reckong Peo

  • Education Minister Rohit Thakur in Bilaspur

  • Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh in Hamirpur

  • PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh in Nahan

  • Town and Country Planning Minister Rajesh Dharmani in Keylong, Lahaul-Spiti

  • AYUSH Minister Yadvinder Goma in Kullu

In addition, Deputy Speaker Vinay Kumar will also be present at the Hamirpur event alongside Anirudh Singh.

All relevant departments, universities, educational institutions, and officials have been directed to ensure smooth coordination and proper arrangements for the celebration across the state.
